With the emergence of different platforms such as the Internet, PC, mobile devices and the like, interconnectedness seems hard-wired in our society. Gone are  the days where you send snail mails and receive response days after. Now a days, with just a click of a button or swipe of your fingers, you can reply to hundreds of messages and electronic mails within minutes. You receive flight confirmations immediately within the minutes of booking it. You upload photos and share it instantly with your friends online. There's plenty of things that was way beyond the expectations of what people a decade ago thought of was possible.

Thus, the way we interact in the different aspects of our lives have been greatly revolutionized. Now we have plenty of options to choose from in terms of how we do things.

We can order online for our food, clothing, home furnitures. Almost anything really! We can use apps to track how much money we spend on a daily basis or use them to organize our office files to our personal files. 

There's always something new to expect with these platforms continuously evolving and now being closely linked together. The way we travel, for one, has been dependent on the advances of tech. The Web and Mobile tools have been used significantly to further ease travel experience, both in cost (Seat Sales, PISO Fare! ehem ehem) and time (online booking, etc...).

Also, some bright minds used these avenues to create seemingly new and "crazy" ways of getting around. They create new trends of travelling. And it's catching up.

Carpooling

There's a web and mobile app called Tripda. Its "a carpooling platform that connects drivers commuting with empty seats in their cars and passengers heading the same way, so both can share the cost of the trip, while meeting new people, reducing traffic and preserving the environment!" - www.tripda.com.ph (no need for explaination, they said it clear as a day)
Another carpooling platform is Tripid. Tripid is a ride-sharing app that helps you find people heading your way. www.tripid.ph

Taxi Booking

If your in a hurry, and you need to take a cab without waiting in line or battling it out with other cab riders, you can hail a cab using your mobile phones. Theres EasyTaxi , Uber and GrabTaxi. Each of these Taxi booking tools may have Mobile Apps in different platforms (Android, IOS, Windows and web app). 

Currently, GrabTaxi is the number 1 Free Transporation App (Philippines) in Google Playstore, while Uber and EasyTaxi at 2nd and 3rd respectively. Some notable differences among these booking apps is that Uber uses luxury cars to pick you up rather than regular taxi at a higher cost.
