Mt. Ulap Eco Trail Travel Guide
Mt Ulap Eco Trail
Mt. Ulap - View from Gungal Rock Itogon Benguet |
This is the perfect day hike option if you are in Baguio. If you are don't mind getting more sun that your usual dose, this is an easy climb. But on a rainy day, this might be a difficult trail due to the soft and steep slopes of the mountain ridge.

Mt. Ulap Itinerary and Cost
From BaguioJeep Terminal:
Shopper's Lane in Lakandula St. near Center Mall across Jollibee Magsaysay
Fare: 31 pesos per person
Note: First Trip Going to Ampucao Barangay Hall is 6 AM in the Morning
Ampucao Barangay Hall:
ETA: 45 mins to 1 hour
Registration Fee: 100 pesos per head
Tour Guide: 400 pesos per group of 10 people
Note: Head over to the registration area, sign the consent forms and jot down every member in the log books. You can opt not to have a tour guide ( if you speak ilokano, you have higher chances going on your own). But I suggest to hire otherwise for new hikers and the like. We nearly got lost going down the Sta. Fe Ridge since we chose to traverse the Eco Trail.
Backtrack and Traverse Options
From the Ampucao Brgy Hall, the staff there will ask you about what do you want to do in the Eco Trail. Either Backtrack or Traverse the Eco Trail. The same registration and guide fee applies.
Note: Another perk of having a Tour guide is they will contact jeepneys to pick you up if you choose Traverse and exit in Sta. Fe Ridge. But do not fret if you have no tour guides, there are Baguio - Philex Bound jeepneys along the exit. And the guides of the Ampucao Eco Trail will surely help and contact jeepneys for you in Sta. Fe.
Fare: 50 pesos per head
This trip wouldn't be an awesome Year end Climb without this pips:
For my Highschool friends, another year end travel we share, let's not break it!
For my College friends, start of a new tradition!
For my friends from Travelling/Hiking, more hikes in 2016!
For the lone wolf who join our crazy group, Carl, don't stop exploring!
Crazy mix of individuals but same thirst for adventure! See you again in 2016

ReplyDeletehi there! reading this posts thrills me a lot to go there. Is it cool to bring my 6yo child with us to trek this beautiful mountain?
ReplyDeleteYou can Art! Easy walk uphill just don't let you child out of your sight for a minute. the slopes there are steep. :) and also be extra careful on Gungal Rock.
DeleteI suggest back trail the Mt. Ulap if you're bringing your child. the Traverse is really a steep slope going down. might be hard to look after your child :)
